The United Nations is a global multilateral organisation with a constituency of its national member states.
According to their Sierra Leone specific website,
“The role of the UN is to support Sierra Leone in implementing its Government’s Agenda for Prosperity (2013-2018) as well as other internationally agreed goals and treaties.
All work in Sierra Leone is guided by the UNDAF – the United Nations Development Action Framework. It features eight priority themes, or pillars.
The United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in Sierra Leone consists of all the 22 UN agencies, funds and programmes in Sierra Leone. The UNCT works “as one” to support development.”
